You can still go to our Indiegogo page and grab a cheap entry or perk, if you have not already. We have sent the order for the planks off, but I'm sure they will be happy to make more. Once normal registration is setup here in a few weeks, we will close the Indiegogo campaign (and your chance to purchase those sweet perks) and open a race registration you are used to seeing.
Now I'll let you in on all the secrets of how we did this, which isn't really much of a secret at all.
Start with designing the webpage. We stole a lot of our ideas straight from the Super Troops 2 Indiegogo campaign because they raised a few million dollars in their first week. They had some pretty sweet, although vulgar, videos. Since we had nearly no budget and I'm clearly not a professional actor, we made a video good enough to explain what we were doing. Then we had our graphic designer make some bad-ass graphics just for our campaign.
Now the real work begins of getting you all your perks and building an outstanding marathon. We could not be more excited to do all of this for you and bring our area a world-class marathon. We have tagged our race "The Race Runners Built" in honor of your support. I'll try to keep you updated more regularly on our progress, but should I fail, please check out our Facebook page for the newest info.
